The Department of Canadian Heritage is a government institution created to promote the cultural heritage of Canada, active citizenship, human rights and multiculturalism. The Department divides its activity into six categories: Arts & Culture, Citizenship & Identity, Diversity & Multiculturalism, International, Sport, and Youth. Each of these rubrics guides the user to an impressive number of different programs and funds (an alphabetical list is on the website). The Department’s website also lists organizations acting under its auspices, which award grants to nongovernmental organizations, local governments and individuals.
