MitOst e.V. was founded in 1996. Currently it has 500 members from 22 countries, including current and former Bosch Foundation fellows, DAAD lecturers, and people interested in intercultural activity in Central, Eastern and South-Central Europe. The organization accomplishes its goals by building a network of information and contacts, and through educational projects and cultural exchange. The projects include excursions aimed at educating about the culture and characteristics of Germany, Central, Eastern and Southern Europe, international seminars on historical and current topics, exhibits, film screenings, and international student theater festivals.
