The Interfaith Council of Greater New York was created in 1993. Its goal is to bring together members of different faiths, to foster dialogue among them, and to discuss current problems. As a link between various religious communities, the Council aims to promote cooperation regardless of differences. The Council invites religious leaders to engage in dialogue. Important parts of the work include education, meetings, conferences and seminars. The organization also organizes events allowing various communities to act together and learn from diverse religious traditions.
The website contains information about dialogue facilitation, a poetry corner, a presentation of the Golden Rule common to various faiths, and a collection of links to institutions supporting interfaith reconciliation and cooperation.
