The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators was established in 1915 and currently has 10,500 registered members. It is also a research center. The Institute offers a wide variety of services: educational programs and training for arbitrators worldwide, and alternative methods of conflict resolution (mediation, adjudication and arbitration). The Institute accredits arbitrators.

The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators website features detailed course descriptions, primarily on mediation and arbitration methods; an online bookstore; an extensive collection of interesting links; and sample conflict resolution scenarios.
