It is the only Ukrainian minority organization co-operating with Polish NGOs on an ongoing basis. Among other activities, the union carried out a training series for other organizations in regions with a high percentage of national minorities, focusing on education and lobbying for national minority organizations in Poland. ZUMN realizes various projects promoting Ukrainian culture, e.g., "Bytowska Warta", a cyclical cultural event taking place since 1990. The event aims to integrate the local communities of Kashubians and Ukrainians through shared fun activities. The Ukrainian Youth Fair, an annual event occurring since 1992, is a presentation of the cultural achievements of Ukrainian youth in Poland. Ukrainian Cultural Days in Krakow is a project aiming at overcoming stereotypes and mutual discrimination by popularizing Ukrainian culture.
