The Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human Rights and Rule of Law is an international non-governmental organization made up of citizens from the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United States. It is connected with the American "Union of Councils" organization, with over 100 000 members. With help from the Union of Councils, similar councils for the protection of human rights have been created in Moscow, St. Petersburg (Russia), Kiev (Ukraine), Minsk (Belarus) and Bishkek (Kyrgyz).
The main objectives of the Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human Rights and Rule of Law include:
The creation of a legal protection network allowing continuous monitoring of human rights issues in Kazakhstan and other countries of the former Soviet Union. Collection and distribution of information about human rights violations and on how to influence ruling authorities to solve specific problems in areas of human rights protection.
